PRIMARY
CURRICULUM
Nurturing natural curiosity and a love of learning from the very first day — building the skills, knowledge and character every student needs to thrive.
Foundation to Year 2
Curiosity at the Heart of Learning
Students bring to school a wide range of experiences, abilities, needs and interests. They have a natural curiosity about their world. Their desire to make sense of the world provides a platform to plan and review their learning through interactions with others, experimentation, scaffolding, explicit teaching, practice and play in the classroom and beyond.
Our Foundation to Year 2 program is built around this natural curiosity — creating rich, engaging experiences that lay the literacy, numeracy and social foundations every student needs for their learning journey ahead.
Students learn through a balance of structured teaching, collaborative exploration and play-based learning — developing confidence, independence and a genuine love of discovering new things.
Year 3 to Year 6
The Australian Curriculum in Action
The Australian Curriculum across Years 3–6 assists students to develop their ability to take positive action for wellbeing; relate and communicate well with others; pose questions and solve problems; make informed decisions and act responsibly.
Students engage more purposefully with the discipline knowledge, understanding and skills of the eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum — English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Technologies, The Arts, Health and Physical Education, and Languages.
This stage of learning deepens students' conceptual understanding and builds the academic habits they will carry through to secondary school and beyond.
Eight Learning Areas
Our primary curriculum is delivered through the eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum — building well-rounded, capable students.
Goals for Every Primary Student
Growing the Whole Child
All students in the Primary School are encouraged to develop every dimension of their being — academic, social, emotional, spiritual and physical. We believe that genuine learning happens when students feel safe, valued and inspired.
Classroom programs and organisation enable students to develop independent and collaborative work habits. They learn to work together, sharing ideas and solving problems in a caring, supportive environment.
